People can suffer with different hair conditions at any time of their life – it can occur gradually or suddenly, below is a brief description of some of the conditions that may be affecting you – but please remember regardless of the problem there WILL be a solution!

– ♦ –

Female Pattern Hair Loss

This condition is normally hereditary that causes thinning hair which can be found around the top of the head and/or the crown area, whilst the thickness of the hair from the sides and back of the scalp will not be affected. You may notice that you might lose more hairs than usual on a day to day basis and that your parting becomes wider.

– ♦ –

Male Pattern Baldness

It is a condition caused by a bi-product of testosterone named DHT (Dihydrotestosterone). DHT attaches to the hair follicles which in then time causes them to shrink, which then means the hair will become thinner and thinner until some men become totally bald on the top of the head.

– ♦ –

Traction Alopecia

Traction Alopecia causes hair loss by placing constant, excessive tension on the hair, this normally occurs when the client is over using hair extensions, braids or wefts. The follicles become damaged, leading to hair loss generally concentrated around the hairline and temples, leaving only fine or ‘fluffy’ hairs left behind.

– ♦ –

Alopecia Areata

Alopecia Areata causes patchy hair loss that can start suddenly, causing bald patches. This hair loss condition is often caused by stress or shock and in most cases it is only temporary. It can however unfortunately lead to more severe cases which can involve complete hair loss of the scalp and body.

– ♦ –

Thinning Crown

Hair loss at the crown will usually start off with thinning until the scalp becomes visible, after which a bald patch may start to appear. This bald patch may progress until it meets a receding hairline or causes an area of baldness at the top or back of the head. The extensiveness or pattern is different from one person to another, but it is very common.
